The Philadelphia Foundation is Southeastern Pennsylvania’s community foundation, a pool of more than 800 charitable trust funds created to improve the quality of life in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties through funds established by our donors.
At The Philadelphia Foundation, we understand the importance of education. That’s why individuals, families, businesses or other groups establish scholarship funds that support various educational opportunities for applicants of all ages.
Scholarships for the 2013/2014 Academic Year
Alpha Leadership and Scholarship Fund
Through this annual scholarship program, the fraternity seeks to recognize 2013 graduating high school seniors and students enrolled in undergraduate programs, who have exhibited exceptional academic performance, excellence in leadership and dedication to community service. The Chapter will provide three outstanding students in the Philadelphia region with a $1,000 scholarship.
Glaxo Smith-Kline Opportunity Scholarship
Scholarships for residents of Philadelphia who have overcome significant adversity the opportunity to pursue their dreams and improve their lives through higher education. Mervyn Sluizer, Jr. Scholarship
The Mervin Sluizer, Jr. Scholarship Fund was created in 1992 by alumni of Philadelphia Troop 185, Boy Scouts of America; for the purpose of helping worthy scouts pursue higher education. This is a scholarship in the amount of $1,000.
Richard Ash Scholarship Fund
Applicant must be a Philadelphia resident who is a graduating high school senior or adult student interested in seeking a college education and who demonstrates financial need. The scholarship awards 10-20 scholarship multi-year scholarships per year. The award ranges from $1,000-$5,000 per year per student.
