The Scholarship and Endowment Ministry has the primary responsibility of providing financial and educational support to members of Salem Baptist Church of Jenkintown who aspire to pursue a college degree. The ministry administers the Salem Baptist Church scholarship program by encouraging contributions to the Scholarship Endowment Fund and annually awarding scholarships to eligible students. The Ministry also sponsors programs and activities that assist high school students in preparation for college.

The Scholarship Ministry will be sending gift cards to our college students during their final exams. To ensure students receive their gift cards, a current Student Data Profile must be completed. An updated Student Profile is required even if the student’s campus address is the same as last year.

Meeting deadlines is a desired attribute and will enhance the outcome of the student’s college life experience; failure to meet the deadline will result in the elimination for consideration.

The Theodore R. Capers, Jr. Memorial Scholarship is intended for Salem Baptist Church youth in their junior or senior year of college, who have a personal goal of providing a human service after graduation. Preference will be given to those students majoring in engineering or architecture. The recipient(s) shall be selected at least in part on the basis of financial need.
