Testimonials

Here is what some DigiGirlz had to say about their experiences at the camp: &quot;[The event was] very empowering and I know that I can accomplish anything!&quot; &quot;It definitely had a positive impact on me. It got me inspired to get involved and really gave me confidence to live out my dreams. It gave me great ideas and I am so excited to continue on!&quot; &quot;Even in the short time I was at Microsoft I learned so much about technology, but more about how people can achieve professions that they love and enjoy. Everyone&#39;s enthusiasm about their professions inspired me to find what I love and pursue it -- not only in technology, but in life.&quot; &quot;I am now much, much more interested in technology-related careers. They are so much fun.&quot;

Application Details To apply, girls need to complete the online application form which is available at: https://www.microsoft.com/about/diversity/programs/camps.mspx

<description>
SALEM BAPTIST CHURCH OF JENKINTOWN serves the religious and spiritual needs of 1,100 families from Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties. Founded in 1884, the church has grown from only a few members to its current population. The current church and educational facilities house the sanctuary, classrooms and administrative offices to support its many ministries.

Pursuant to the vision of our beloved Pastors, Salem purchased an adjacent property in 1996, upon which a new Family Life Center will be constructed. The new 15,000 square feet Family Life Center will accommodate Salem&#39;s library, a computer training center, a credit union, a gift shop, ministry suites, and the new administrative offices of the pastor and staff.

<title>No Title - Deacon Zone List</title>
<link>http://www.salem-baptistchurch.com/app/w_page.php?type=section&amp;id=117</link>
<guid>http://www.salem-baptistchurch.com/app/w_page.php?type=section&amp;id=117&amp;article_id=118</guid>
<description>

Deacons &amp; Deaconess&#39;s Zone List

SALEM FAMILY . . . A Zone List has been created to help us know how to contact you and to give you a means of knowing who to contact when you need prayer or want to talk to someone; when you are sick; when you or your family is in the hospital; when you hvae death in your family or someone you care for; when you need services from the Church; or when you need to know where to get help.

What is a Zone List?

The Zone List is a geographical zip code representation of the Salem Members and the Deacons and Deaconess&#39; Teams assigned to serve the Church Families.

How Does the Zone List Work?

Families members of the Church are automatically assigned to a Team of Deacons and Deaconess who care for them. The Deacons and Deaconesses are grouped by Zones. A zone consist of a group of zip codes. Your zip code determines the zone you are assigned. There are seven (7) Zones, defined as Zone 1 through Zone 7.

How do I find my Zone and Zone Team?

The Zone List is defined in a Table. The table contains two primary columns. The first column contains the Zone Number (1 -7) at the top. The zip codes and the Area names associated with the zip codes in that Zone are below the Zone Number (i.e Wyncote 19095). Search through the list until you locate your zip code or the name of your area. The names and telephone numbers of your Deacons and Deaconess&#39; Team are listed in the second column located directly across from the Zone Number column. Please feel free to contact your Team whenever you need them.

What if your zip code does not appear in a Zone? If your zip code does not appear in one of the zones or your zip code is out of state and is not listed, please contact the Chairperson of the Deacon or Deaconess Board to have the zone list updated: The Chairperson of the Deacon Board is Deacon Joseph Jones (215.572.0245). The Chairperson of the Deaconess Board is Deaconess Betty Cannon (215.572.5707).

What if my address and/or my telephone number changes, or my family plans to be away for an extended period of time?

Zone Leaders (a Deacon &amp; a Deaconess) has been assigned to each zone. Please contact them to have your information updated. If you can not reach them, please contact any member of your Zone Team or the Church Office. The number in the Church Office is 215 884 7664. DEACON ZONE LISTSymbols &amp; Notations

Federal Aviation Association-

If you have or know kids between the ages of 18-31 with a high school diploma The Federal Aviation Association is taking applications for air traffic controller school. We all have kids and know kids in the right age group (under 31) and with some effort they could reach a salary of over $100,000 with benefits in about 3 years. You need only a high school diploma to apply and credit is given for college on the exam.
They need to go to
&lt;http://faa.gov/&gt; faa.gov  http://www.faa.gov/jobs/job_opportunities/airtraffic_controllers/

for details and to fill out the application immediately - even if they don&#39;t know if they&#39;d want to attend immediately - it&#39;s the federal government and it may take them months to call. The key is to apply NOW. There will be a lot of retirements coming up rather quickly and they need to line up training to accommodate these openings. It&#39;s my understanding that the FAA rarely has an open application such as this and that the jobs are coveted.

Intelligence Community Diversity Initiative:
Our nation&#39;s leaders recognize the need to tap the talent and expertise of all our diverse citizens who possess multiple skills, different perspectives, and rich and varied life experiences. The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is therefore reaching out to minority communities to diversify its workforce. Through a special arrangement with UNCFSP, persons who submit a resume to the UNCFSP registration and resume system, apply for employment, and indicate that they learned about the CIA job opportunities through UNCFSP will receive an expedited application review! This means that your resume will receive:Personal review by a CIA hiring official Quicker processing - your resume will be reviewed before others applying through regular channels Careful consideration - the CIA&#39;s commitment to this diversity initiative will ensure that your resume will be thoroughly considered

This is a unique opportunity. The CIA receives over 140,000 applications a year. This is an opportunity to bypass the typical application process for the CIA. To review the variety of careers available with the CIA, please check this link: http://exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=https://www.cia.gov/careers/index.html. If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity, please respond to this email with the phrase &quot;Please Submit my Resume for this Opportunity&quot; in the subject line. If we do not hear from you, we will contact you to confirm your interest. We will continue to inform you of other opportunities as they become available. Questions or Comments? Please contact us at registration@uncfsp.org; United Negro College Fund Special Programs Corporation, 2750 Prosperity Avenue, Suite 600, Fairfax, Virginia 22031.

ANNUAL HBCU BUS TOUR...Each year the Philadelphia Chapter of the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College hosts an HBCU bus tour for high school girls. This year&#39;s trip will take place from October 17-21, 2007. The cost is $495.00. This is a wonderful opportunity to educate young women about the possibilities, opportunities and benefits of attending a Historically Black College or University. The trip is targeted to female high school students (grades 9-12), where they will have an opportunity to visit academic buildings, tour the campuses, meet with faculty, and talk to current students and staff from the Admissions Departments. The trip also includes a tour of Historical Landmarks in each State. According to the admissions counselors, it&#39;s NEVER TOO EARLY for high school students to find out what they need to be doing to ensure they&#39;re prepared academically to get into college. While we LOVE Spelman, we want to provide the most well-rounded trip for the girls and have expanded our 2007 bus tour beyond the AUC. This year we will be visiting:

Morgan State University, Howard University, North Carolina A&amp; T,
Bennett College, Clark Atlanta University and Spelman College.
