The Voices of Praise and the Division Street Band started in December 1999, as a choir and musical ensemble, to provide worship for the Salem Baptist Church of Jenkintown's Contemporary worship services.

The Voices of Praise and the Division Street Band has performed at Keswick Theatre, participated for several years in the annual Jenkintown Jazz Festival and in Cheltenham Township's Summer Concerts in the Park. The Voices of Praise also performed "Live" with Peabo Bryson, Christopher Cross, Irene Cara and Sheena Easton and has also ministered to various churches in Philadelphia and Montgomery County.

Presently, the choir sings every 4th Sunday at the 11:00 a.m. contemporary worship services at Salem and has a musical repertoire of contemporary and traditional gospel music. This ministry has grown to more than 60 active members who lift up the name of Jesus through song, worship and praise and to seek the lost for Christ.
